Featured in this lot is this beautiful, Old Governor "Sour Mash" stoneware whiskey bottle manufactured by the A. Brof & Company in 1879 recovered from historic Tombstone, Arizona Territory. This stoneware bottle features a handle on the back and a two color design with a brown neck and off white color for the rest of the bottle. It is marked on the front in gold gilt lettering reading, "Old Governor / 1879 / Sour Mash / A. Brof & Co. St. Louis". A cork is still present in the mouth but no contents are inside the bottle. It shows good condition overall with wear present from its age and use over the years, but no major signs of damage noted. It measures 5" L x 4 5/8" W x 7 5/8" H and weighs 1 pound and 10 ounces. Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona.
