Extremely rare letterhead from one of the smallest and most historic towns in Nevada dated 1880. Short note from E.A. Boles to Mr. Predy regarding Boles freight shipment. Nevada’s first settlement was at Mormon Station (Genoa) in 1851 when it was part of Utah Territory. In the 1870’s, Genoa had about 1,000 residents. Today the town still has some interesting buildings and the gravesite of “Showshoe” Thompson who took the mail over the Sierras before completion of the telegraph line in 1858(Paher, Nevada Ghost Towns and Mining Camps). Spindle hole in the center is taped on the back with a couple small tears at the bottom margin. VF.City: GenoaCounty: Douglas CountyState: NV
