A Baroque Madonna of the Crescent Moon, 18th century, sandstone, depicted standing on a globe in an animated pose, the globe entwined by a snake with a pear, affectionately holding the Child in both hands, dressed in an elaborately and sweepingly executed mantle, carved in full round, minor damages and small repairs, the right hand of Jesus missing, the masterful work of a Viennese Baroque sculptor, around 1775-80, (Er) The original location was a Baroque house (built in 1774), Vienna, 3rd district, Landstrasser Hauptstrasse 35.
