<B>A Baltic Neo-classical Bureau Secretaire</B></I><BR><BR>Unknown maker, Northern Europe<BR>Circa 1820<BR>Mahogany veneer and solids, satinwood, glass, brass<BR>Unmarked<BR>89 in. high x 49.5 in. wide x 24.5 in. deep<BR><BR>Of two sections, the lower with three drawers below a cylindrical roll-top desk with sliding writing surface with storage compartments below, fitted with temple form insert with flanking satinwood inlayed classical figures and three drawer stacks; the upper center projecting section flanked by rounded side cabinets, the center with drop down compartment with removable storage compartments with inlaid fronts with satinwood classical figures, and upper storage compartment; the sides with fitted storage compartments. Brass escutcheon and handles, ivory pulls to inner drawer.<BR>1 <BR><BR><B>Condition Report:</B> Normal signs of wear as appropriate with age. Brass handles and escutcheons replaced. Restoration to veneer.
