A richly decorated Burmese silver lidded bowl, resting on a matching underplate, finely worked in high-relief repoussé technique. The hemispherical bowl is adorned with continuous repoussé scenes depicting animals (including elephants, deer, and tigers) and figures in dynamic jungle and hunting scenes, framed by scrolling foliage. The domed lid is similarly worked, surmounted by a charming cast elephant finial. The underplate echoes the jungle motifs in relief around its scalloped edge.High-grade silver (likely 900–950 silver, as typical for Burmese silverwork). This piece exemplifies the masterful silversmithing of colonial-period Burma, where repoussé silver vessels were produced for both local use and export, often depicting epic or courtly hunting scenes. The elephant finial is a common emblem of status and strength in Burmese art.Weight: 53.6 oz., (1520 g.)Please make all inquiries before bidding. All lots are sold "as-is", refer to our T&C.Helios Auctions does not ship in-house. H: 10 1/2 in., (26.5 cm.)

The surface shows significant tarnish and oxidation throughout, which is typical for antique high-grade silver and can be cleaned if desired. The repoussé work remains crisp and deeply defined, with no apparent major dents, splits, or holes in the silver.
