A BELGIAN PERCUSSION CONVERSION PISTOL WITH TWISTED STEEL BARREL, 19TH C.
The pistol is a Belgian percussion pistol originally circa 1775, later converted to percussion circa 1840, as attested by an old archival sticker set under the stock. The lockplate is relatively plain in and of itself and is held to the stock via two screws with florally shaped mounts on the obverse side of the pistol. The grip has carved checkering and ends in a slightly raised trapezoidal pommel, creating a mostly flattened look in the usual Belgian style. The barrel is of a twisted steel with the characteristic pattern well visible.

L: 11 3/4 in., (29.5 cm.)

Good overall with minor staining on metal. Hammer is slightly loose but could be tightened.
