Signed by the author on the front free endpaper. Illustrated with photographs from the ceremony. Includes a one page typed letter signed by Ostrander, dated August 17, 1928 to well-known autograph dealer Henry E. Luhrs which reads in part: <I>"</B></I>I have but one copy of the bound "Custer Semi-Centennial Ceremonies" left, which I shall keep for myself, and only five of the paper covered ones to be disposed of...I am sure this is going to be a valuable document in time...Those speeches by Indian Chiefs at "Burial of the Hatchet" should go down in history and this was probably the last treaty of Peace entered into by hostile Indians, (Souix and Crow) and U. S. Army Officers...<I>". </B></I>Typed letter includes the original invoice for the book ($2.50) and both letter and invoice are inserted in the original transmittal envelope and tipped-in on the front free endpaper. Octavo. 48 pages.<BR><BR>Original paper covers with portrait of Ostrander on the front cover, bound-in to red leatherette covers with titles in gilt on the front board. Titles have tarnished slightly. Light wear and soiling to the boards. Contents without flaw. A few hand-corrections, presumably by the author.
