Illustrated with a hand-colored frontispiece plate: <I>City of Austin, the New Capital of Texas in January 1, 1840.</B></I> Publisher's finely-ribbed brown cloth, stamped in blind on the covers and lettered and decorated in gilt on the spine. Binding is expertly rebacked, preserving the original spine. Typical browning and foxing to the sheets, and with a bit of staining or offsetting to the preliminary leaves. Altogether, a very good, handsome copy.
