A 1932 Maudslay ML3 Coach, fitted in the 1940's with Gardner 4LW diesel and Thurgood of Ware half-cab coachwork, See illustration £7000-9000 Note; This vehicle spent over thirty years from new with Royal Blue of Pytchley, Northants. Indeed its original NV30 registration is retained by the proprietor, who first drove the Maudsley in 1939. It has subsequently been issued with an age-related V5 registration of PSL 234. There is also an original buff log book and a copious history file recording much of its service life, including the fact that it was commandeered for military use in the Second World War. Very few Maudslays exist, the heyday of the small Maudslay Motor Co having been in the teens and twenties in Coventry. It subsequently passed via other hands into the AEC group and thence into Leyland. The original owner of the business, Cyril Maudslay, is buried at the Cokers, Yeovil, Somerset. This time-warp coach has been the subject of a recent extensive mechanical overhaul and now starts and runs well and has had much of its wiring checked.
