INDEPENDENCE DAY (1996) - Pair of F/A-18 Fighter Jet Model Miniatures - A pair of F/A-18 fighter jet model miniatures from Roland Emmerich's Independence Day. Captain Steven Hiller (Will Smith) and his squadron flew F/A-18s combatting alien invaders, and President Thomas Whitmore (Bill Pullman) piloted one in the July 4th counterattack.

Based on real-world jets used by the historic Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 314 (VMFA-314), these miniatures are constructed from resin cast around a metal interior, mounted with a clear, removable canopy above the cockpit, and hand-painted gray with black and blue military detailing. "Marines," "VW", and "VMFA-314" Black Knights squadron insignia are applied throughout the bodies, while the noses and right vertical stabilizers are numbered "10" and "02" respectively. The undersides feature a removable panel for operating the models and the "02" model includes a front landing wheel. These jets exhibit intentional distressing throughout by production to appear well-used in battle with grime, smudging, and stains throughout. The "10" model exhibits adhesive residue in multiple places where components have broken off, including on the wing flaps and spars. The "10" jets' right flap and spar have both been replaced since production, and the panel on the underside of it is broken in several places. The "02" jet is missing its wing flaps and canopy. Dimensions: (each) 21.25" x 16.5" x 4.5" (54 cm x 42 cm x 11.5 cm)

Estimate: $1,500 - 3,000
