THE DARK CRYSTAL (1982) - Production-Made SkekSil the Chamberlain (Frank Oz) Puppet Head Reference Casting - A reference casting of SkekSil the Chamberlain's (Frank Oz) head from the production of Jim Henson and Oz's The Dark Crystal. After the Garthim Master (Dave Goelz) defeated him for control of the Skesis clan, the wheedling, devious Chamberlain kidnapped the Gelflings Jen (Henson) and Kira (Kathryn Mullen).

This casting was created by the Jim Henson Creature Shop during production as a safety master of the original sculpt for the Skeksil puppet's head in case new molds were ever required. It is one of the best remaining references to one of the primary Skeksis in the film, as most of the original puppet skins from the film have deteriorated due to age. It is indeed possible that this is one of the only original castings from the original mold still in existence.

This casting is made of two thin fiberglass halves pieced together with a layer of gray paint. It has hand-shaded detailing to allow the texture and craggy lines standout out in relief from the one-coat of gray. It comes with a custom-made display. This lot exhibits chips and small holes throughout, as well as fiberglass fragility which should be handled with care. Dimensions: (displayed) 17" x 9" x 12" (43.25 cm x 23 cm x 30.5 cm)

Estimate: $8,000 - 16,000
