1) US M1812/13 DRAGOON SABER. Overall length: 39". Blade length: 33 3/4". Plain blade stamped, “P / HHP / N. STARR” at the ricasso. Iron guard & backstrap. Leather covered grip. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade shows light wear. Hilt shows moderate oxidation. Leather is 90% complete. 2) US MILITIA SWORD. Overall length: 38". Blade length: 32 1/2". A circa 1830 eagle head infantry officer’s sword. Blue & gilded etched blade. Silvered brass hilt w/ ornate downturned guard featuring an American eagle & Indian princess. Eagle pommel & mother of pearl grips. Silvered brass engraved scabbard. CONDITION: blade shows a gray mottled patina below blue & gold decoration. Guard is broken & missing. Scabbard has a sheet silver repair 10" down from the throat. 3) MACHETE. Overall length: 27 1/2". Blade length: 22". Wide, curved & unmarked heavy blade. Brass hilt. Copper backstrap w/ initials “L.A.” stamped on the flat. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade shows deep overall pitting. Hilt is complete but loose. 4) HUNTING SWORD. Overall length: 23". Blade length: 17 1/2". Single fullered, unmarked blade. Brass hilt w/ S shaped guard featuring acorn quillons. Stag horn grip. Brass mounted leather scabbard w/ acorn frog stud. CONDITION: blade has a medium gray mottled patina. Hilt has a deep red brown patina. Scabbard throat has a similar patina. Scabbard is missing bottom 3". 5) M1850 AUSTRIAN CAVALRY SABER. Overall length: 42". Blade length: 36". Single fullered blade marked, “C. JURMANN 1854” & “WAD” w/ eagle. Fully encompassing iron guard. Leather grip w/ iron ears. No scabbard. CONDITION: moderate wear overall. 6) FRENCH ARTILLERY SHORT SWORD. Overall length: 26". Blade length: 19 1/4". Blade marked at the ricasso, “Pihet Freres” & “Chatellerault 1833”. Solid brass hilt. Brass mounted leather scabbard. CONDITION: light wear overall. 7) US M1902 TYPE. Overall length: 39". Blade length: 33 1/2". Single fullered blade marked at the ricasso, “PARIS 1914” & “FBD” in cartouche. Plated guard. Horn grip. No scabbard. This sword is different but very much resembles the US M1902 saber for all officers. CONDITION: light wear overall. 8) US M1840 MEDICAL STAFF TYPE. Overall length: 28". Blade length: 21 1/2". Plain blade w/ gilded solid brass hilt featuring eagles in the grip & a pineapple finial. Gilded brass mounted brown leather scabbard. CONDITION: sword & scabbard show light to moderate wear overall. 9) US MILITIA SWORD. Overall length: 37 3/4". Blade length: 33". A circa 1830 eagle head infantry officer’s sword. Blue & gilded etched blade. Silvered brass hilt w/ ornate downturned guard featuring an American eagle. Eagle pommel w/ certifiably antique ivory grips. Brass mounted leather scabbard. CONDITION: sword shows moderate wear overall. Hilt is quite loose. Scabbard has a break 8" up from the tip & is missing the throat. Scabbard may not be original to the sword.
