The present compilation consists of nine snuff bottles, which were manufactured circa 1900 in China. The bottles form a delightful collection because of their multiple materials, colors and shapes. The materials are made of nephrite, jade, ivory, porcelain, red glass, soapstone, jasper, quartz and composite stone. The bottles have either ovoid or oblong bottle shapes and show a fine carved, incised or cut decor with figural, zoomorphic or floral motifs.

The bottles are in good overall condition with light wear. The lids of the ivory, the glass and the quartz bottles are loose, here the spoons are also missing. The paint of the porcelain bottle has slightly rubbed off. The total heights, with lids, vary from 6 to 9 cm. (cko)
