Carl Simeon's family is originally from Cape Mudge, BC. He began carving wood at the age of fifteen, and began working with his brother, Kwakwaka'wakw master carver Dwayne Simeon, at the age of nineteen. Carl has also received guidance from Haisla carver Henry Robertson. He is known for his totem poles and masks, and he has worked on several large-scale projects with his brother and others. In February of 2008, Carl graduated from the Northwest Coast Jewellery Arts Program at the Native Education College in Vancouver, BC, which was led by Haida/Kwakwaka’wakw artist Dan Wallace.
