CDV of John J. Davis of the 8th Massachusetts Infantry. Image signed in pencil to reverse, ''Priv J.J. Davis / 8th Ma Inf.'' Davis mustered into the 23rd Massachusetts on 12 December 1861. He transferred into the 8th Massachusetts on 15 September 1862 and was discharged on 4 June 1863 at New Berne, North Carolina. He later served with the 2nd Massachusetts Heavy Artillery and the 56th Massachusetts Infantry. Creasing and wear to image, else good condition.
