CASABLANCA (1942) - Light-Up Rick's Cafe Americain Table Lamp - A light-up Rick's Cafe Americain table lamp from Michael Curtiz's Casablanca. American expatriate Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart) decorated his Moroccan nightclub and gambling den with ornately beaded lamps on all the tables.

This lamp originated from a studio lot containing set pieces and other vintage props from the production. After a fire threatened the props, it was acquired by a staff member at the studio. The lamp features a linen lamp shade with silver-color heming, colorful glass bead tassels, a metal frame, a metal rod, and a metal base with a decorative faux-jade embellishment. Also included is a cord added to replace the original which illuminates the lamp when plugged in; six individual bags which hold the various colored beads, organized by type, that have since come undone from the lampshade tassels; and a pad of cream-color French-language stationery labeled "Rick's Cafe Americain" which is believed to be a replica. This lot exhibits mild discoloration, a buildup of grime, and loose components. Dimensions: 10.5" x 10.5" x 20" (26.75 cm x 26.75 cm x 51 cm)

Contains electronics; see electronics notice in the Buyer's Guide.

Estimate: $8,000 - 16,000
