8-gauge fowling piece of commercial or market hunter’s size, signed Tryon. Well-known Philadelphia maker. Originally flintlock, converted to percussion. The barrel measures 56”, nearly 72” or 6 feet overall. The gun is in fair to poor condition showing a heavy black to brown patina in the barrel, scattered light to heavy pitting on the hammer and breech area, and scattered on the barrel. The lock shows good quality engraving and a light color with some pitting. The stock has been badly broken and worn, and a brass hand-made band has reattached the stock to the barrel.
