<B>7th Cavalry Partially Printed Benteen Document Signed,</B></I> "<I>FW Benteen</B></I>", one page, 8.5" x 3.5", Fort Rice, Dakota territory, February 28, 1878. A receipt clipped from a larger document showing a payment of $24.74. Frederick W. Benteen commanded a battalion at the Battle of Little Bighorn on June 25, 1876. Although wounded and the first officer on the scene after Custer's demise, Benteen was chided for perhaps intentionally leaving Custer to his fate. Even toning, fine condition.
