<B>7th Cavalry Partially Printed Document Twice Signed,</B></I> "<I>S. D. Sturgis</B></I>", one page with docketing, 16.75" x 7.5", Standing Rock, Dakota Territory, November 1, 1876. A REQUISITION FOR FUEL, FORAGE AND STRAW approved by former Union Brigadier General Samuel D. Sturgis who was the colonel commanding the 7th Cavalry at the time of the Little Bighorn disaster. He was absent from the regiment at the time of the battle and was thus spared Custer's fate. A few stains and small splits, good condition.
