<B>Seven Early American Documents Pertaining To Indians.</B></I> <B>1).</B></I> Manuscript Document Signed, "<I>Benj Pemberton</B></I>", one page, 7.5" x 9.5", Cambridge, Massachusetts, August, 1744. An 18th century secretarial copy of a 1666 deed from a Native American, Jethro, to one Thomas Danforth. Jethro sold his land to Danforth for "<I>one Cut and roll of tobacco</B></I>". Something here stinks. Uneven right edge, browning on folds. Very good condition; <B>2).</B></I> Manuscript Document Signed, "<I>John Chisholm</B></I>" and "<I>James Dobson</B></I>", 2 pages, 7" x 9.5", Knoxville, Tennessee, June 1, 1795. The front of this document is a bill for Dobson's repairing an "<I>Indian saddle</B></I>" while the verso is a receipt for payment. Folds, with a small pinhole of loss. Overall light browning, very good condition; <B>3).</B></I>Autograph Letter Signed, "<I>David Henley</B></I>", two pages, 7.25" x 9", Knoxville, Tennessee, to Samuel Hogdon, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Henley, a U.S. Army Colonel sent to Knoxville by President Washington, was to establish a military presence in East Tennessee and deal with the local Indians. This letter to an eastern supplier states that, "<I>all the treaty goods and Stores for the Commissioners have got safe on and in good order...</B></I>".Light aging as expected, else fine condition; <B>4).</B></I> Manuscript Document Signed, "<I>Robert Armer</B></I>", 2 pages, 8" x 10", Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, August 2, 1800. an itemized accounting of longarms distributed to various Indian tribes such as the Kickapoo, Shawnee, Miami and Kaskaskia. Important. Fine condition; <B>5).</B></I> Autograph Letter Signed, "<I>H. Burbeck</B></I>", one page, 8" x 10.25", Washington, D.C., January 1, 1801, to Captain Ingersoll, location unknown. The author of this letter requesting muster returns was General Henry Burbeck, Anthony Wayne's Chief Artillerist during the Northwest Indian Wars.Even toning, smoothed folds. Very good condition; <B>6).</B></I> Man <I>From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection.</B></I>uscript Document Signed, "<I>P. Pipkin</B></I>" and "<I>Jacob Thompson</B></I>", one page with docketing, nashville, Tennessee, October 24, 1814. A rare War of 1812 army pay voucher to "George", an Indian runner. Fine condition; <B>7).</B></I> Autograph Note Signed, "<I>H.R. Schoolcraft</B></I>", one page, np, nd. This note asks an anonymous editor if he has received a manuscript. Henry Rowe Schoolcraft engaged in ethnographic fieldwork among various Native American tribes in the upper Midwest. He can also be credited with discovering the source of the Mississippi River in 1832. Central split touches upon the first letter in the signature, else fine condition. <I>From the Henry E.
