CLIFFORD (1994) - Flying Pterodactyl Puppet and Tyrannosaurus Reference Maquette - A flying Pterodactyl puppet and a Tyrannosaurus reference maquette from Paul Flaherty's Clifford. Animatronic Pterodactyls accompanied Clifford (Martin Short) through his ride on the Larry the Scary Rex rollercoaster, where the tyrannosaurus emerged at the end of the ride before it malfunctioned.

Designed by practical FX company Spectral Motion, this lot consists of one puppet and one maquette. This large Pterodactyl puppet is constructed primarily from foam molded around an internal metal armature with a puppeteering rod inset with wood protruding from the center, a metal hook for "flying" the puppet, and hand-painted brown and red stripes textured to appear scaly. This maquette is made of cast urethane formed over a metal armature and mounted to a black painted wooden base. The puppet is splitting in several places on the wings and the paint exhibits flaking throughout, exposing the foam underneath; while the maquette exhibits hardening with age, as well as cracking and breaking material on the legs and arms. Dimensions: (largest) 28" x 34" x 12" (71.25 cm x 86.5 cm x 30.5 cm)

Estimate: $600 - 1,200
