Antique 6 Drawer O.N.T. Clarks Advertising Spool Thread Store Cabinet.
This at one time sat in a General Store, loaded with the old style wooden spools with colorful threads for sewing and mending.

Levi Strauss Catalogs carried these very spool cabinets, see pics. (Just for information purposes, the catalog is not available, just the spool cabinet, see below)

Beautiful antique quarter sawn oak advertising display cabinet for a retail General Merchandise or Clothing store, which would hold all the various styles and colors of sewing thread.

This would be a great addition to any sewing related collection, such as quilters, embroidery and lace collectors, vintage clothing stores or collectors, Singer and other makes sewing machine enthusiasts, or just general display and advertising enhancement for a modern clothing retail store.

Also great for the home to store small items, thread and also makes a great table.
The top has become warped over all the years, not bad, see pics. (Some may be able to remove and straighten, or even reproduce, the rest of the cabinet is pretty sound.
Not terribly warped but you can see from pics a bit there.

The gold leaf glass fronts are mostly intact, two have damage, and all the hardware is original to the piece, there are two drawer pulls that have some surface verdigris.

Each drawer pull is very ornate in stamped yellow brass, showing the company initials on each pull, ONT. They all have their original patinia, a couple have some moisture damage, but easily cleaned. I always left it as found.

Like I mentioned, two of the glass windows have damage, the top one is missing a short section of its far left end and the third window down also is missing a couple pieces with some cracks.
This cabinet is well over 100 years old, and has actually held up incredibly well.

Ornate plinth blocks and top rosettes on front face , with other beveled finish work around the perimeter.

Appears to be the original finish overall, some light scuffing and signs of age and use, but actually pretty nice overall.

Draws all pull evenly and freely, except one is a bit stiff going in all the way. Likely some very minor sanding would take care of this.

Measurements are as follows;

Width across the bottom front - 25 ¼ inch
Depth along the bottom sides (Front to back) – 19 7/8 inch
Height – 22 ¼ inch
Width across the top front – 24 5/8 inch
Depth along the top sides – 18 7/8 inch
See pics;

In addition the images of a 1905 Levi Strauss Catalog, are for informational purposes, in the images from the catalog you can see a nice grouping of these very cabinets that Levi Strauss carried and sold to their commercial retail customers.

I’ve included two images from this valuable catalog, just for informational purposes, the front cover and the page where the very 6 drawer cabinet is shown, along with other smaller cabinets.

I would very much prefer this be local pickup only, but I know, that isnt likely, so note, that I would ship, but it would need to be palletized.

The winning bidder will have to contact me directly to make arrangements, for that, I will contact you and we can go from there.
