<B>Late 1960's Geese Ausbie Game Worn Harlem Globetrotters Jersey.</B></I> Ranking as this country's top goodwill ambassadors in the field of athletics are the beloved Harlem Globetrotters, who have paired top-quality basketball with side-splitting comedy over six continents and eight decades. Here we present a jersey worn by one of the biggest names of the late 1960's and early 1970's, a team that featured the likes of Curly Neal and Meadowlark Lemon. This one was Hubert "Geese" Ausbie's, known as the "Clown Prince of Basketball" for his fine skills and irrepressible sense of humor on the court. The classic styling is unmistakable, with a patriotic color scheme and a spangling of stars. "Original Harlem Globetrotters" is spelled on the front in bold tackle twill, with Ausbie's number "35" on verso below a tackle twill and chenille globe. "Wilson" label in tail has typed size designator reading "42, +3." Wear is outstanding, typical for a team that toured two hundred fifty days a year and did not have a vast wardrobe of jerseys. Included in the lot is a pair of trunks with a later "Wilson" tagging style in the waistband (size 36), but perfect for display with the jersey.
