This lot comprises six bottles of 1990 vintage Château La Mission Haut-Brion from the Pessac-Léognan appellation in Bordeaux.

The appellation Pessac-Léognan is part of the Graves wine region, south of the city of Bordeaux. Vines thrive on the Ice Age gravel terraces, producing first-class mineral red wines made up of Cabernet Sauvignon and some Merlot and Cabernet franc. Aside from Château Haut-Brion, the region’s iconic Premier cru classé, Pape-Clément and Smith Haut-Lafite are the leading wine growers of the region. The appellation is also the home of intense, powerful dry white wines. Cuvées made from Sauvignon blanc and Sémillon are aromatic and structurally characterized by Sauvignon blanc.

1990 was a great year for Bordeaux wine. The warm, sunny weather was hardly interrupted, producing fantastic wines in Pomerol and Saint-Émilion in particular. This wine will also taste magnificent today.

The 1990 vintage Château La Mission Haut-Brion was last awarded 99 points by Robert Parker. Swiss Bordeaux expert René Gabriel rated the wine 19 of 20 points. James Suckling for Wine Spectator rated the wine 93 points.

The fill levels are excellent (into neck). The labels and capsules are in perfect condition.
