In small part, “...<i>We don’t have duty to do now only to ride out with the officers once in a while...They are no rebels hear of any account only some guerillas and I don’t fear them. I don’t brag nor bost but let them ketch me if they can, if I have a good horse, they still are some deserters coming in to our lines</i>...” He continues with news of friends, one of whom wants “<i>permission to write to your woman</i>...” <i>February 3rd...left yesterday to go and take some rebels to general head qrs. The fourth Pa Cavalry captured them and sent them hear...I tell you they was spunckey</i>...” Ink uneven and somewhat faded, especially on third page; 2" fold separation with no paper loss; scattered foxing; o/w Fair.</span></p>
