BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (1978-1979) - Hand-Drawn Joe Johnston Battlestar Concept Sketch - A concept sketch of an unidentified Battlestar hand-drawn by effects illustrator and designer Joe Johnston for the production of Glen A. Larson's television series Battlestar Galactica. The Colonial Fleet utilized eight Battlestars - the Acropolis, Atlantia, Columbia, Galactica, Pacifica, Pegasus, Rycon, and Triton - in their battles with the Cylons throughout the series. A ninth Battlestar, the Prometheus, also appeared in concept artwork created during pre-production.

Created for the miniature and optical effects unit, this illustration depicting a three-quarter view of a Battlestar is rendered in graphite on vellum alongside a stray, incomplete sketch of another craft. The vellum is cut into a semi-circle by production and exhibits minor discoloration from age. Dimensions: 10.5" x 7.5" (26.75 cm x 19 cm)

Sold without copyright; see copyright notice in the Buyer's Guide.

Estimate: $1,200 - 2,400
