<B>576-Gram Gold Nugget From Australia.</B></I> <B>576-Gram Gold Nugget From Australia. </B></I>18.52 troy ounces. Like the 151-gm nugget above, this piece was also found by a professional gold prospector who uses a metal detector to find the nuggets. These two and the massive 1236-gram nugget below were all found in the same general area of Australia called "Wedderburn-Central Victoria." The prospector said the nuggets were located one to three feet below the surface of the ground in "mineralized red clay." When his metal detector went off, he would dig a one- to three-foot-deep hole and find the nugget sitting there. This is a roughly triangular-shaped nugget.
