Ca. 2nd century A.D., from Egypt during the Roman occupation. Head portion of a Roman period funerary sarcophagus depicts a male with full beard; his thick eyebrows and short hair combed into a fringe on forehead. Flesh tone background painted with black and white details. Areas of interior deposits. Near lifesize at 8"H.
