Grouping of 53 vintage U.S. Buffalo nickels spanning multiple dates and conditions, including both readable and worn examples. The Buffalo nickel, or Indian Head nickel, was minted by the United States from 1913 to 1938 and features a right-facing composite profile of a Native American man on the obverse. This portrait is believed to have been modeled from Iron Tail, Two Moons, and possibly other tribal leaders. The reverse displays a powerful image of an American bison standing atop a mound or flat plain, with inscriptions for FIVE CENTS and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. This group includes numerous dated coins such as 1936 and 1937 issues, as well as many No Date examples, often favored by crafters or beginning collectors. All coins are housed individually in cardboard 2x2 holders. A classic example of early 20th-century U.S. coinage design, attributed to sculptor James Earle Fraser. Coin diameter approx. 21.2mm each. Each holder measures 2"W x 2"L.
