Description: Mike hunts trophy Brown bear and Black bear over bait stations. Starting July 1, 2015, Alaska Dept. of Fish and Game is implementing an Intensive Management (IM) plan in GMU 16 for Brown bears and Black bears due to the dense population of bears. Bait stations are allowed for both species. GMU 16 has a two Brown bear limit every regulatory year and three Black bear limit. There is no closed season. Brown bear range from 8 - 9 foot, with an occasional 10 footer. Black bear range over 6 foot. This is a rare opportunity to hunt Brown bear over bait site. Typically, hunters are within 35 yards of these huge bears. Seeing a ½ ton Brown bear up close is a definite adrenalin rush! Don’t miss this great opportunity. Also during this time, silver salmon are moving upstream to spawn in upper creeks and lakes near camp. So, bring your fishing gear too.
Included in Hunt: tent camp accommodations, meals, 1X1 guide service, trophy fees for one Brown bear and one Black bear, field prep., transfer of trophies back to Anchorage, and land use permit. Additional hunters are welcomed at discounted rate of $18,000, and observers for $2,000.
