collar badges Canadian Boer War Era. Up for auction is a rare and sought after cap badge set, an original North West Mounted Police badge and collar badge set with stunning patina and sharp features. Similar in design to the Royal North West Mounted Police cap badge though far harder to find, this is often the highlight of Mounted Police badge collecting. This example is in good condition, retaining sharp detailing on voided front. A large Kings Crown stands on top of the badge, with center detailed Bison and surrounding original motto "Maintien Le Droit" (To Maintain the Right) which was later changed to "Maintiens le Droit" in 1915. The badge is surrounded by a Canadian maple leaf wreath, with lower scroll reading "North West Mounted Police", and upper "Canada" scroll. The badge has an excellent white metal patina. The reverse of the badge has both original lugs, and retains its famous Gaunt disk. The disk reads "J.R. GAUNT & SON LONDON", with disk being in the center of the badge..
The cap badge set includes its original collar badge pair. Both collars retain sharp detailing on voided front. A large Kings Crown stands on top of the badge, with center detailed Bison and surrounding original motto "Maintien Le Droit" and lower scroll "North West Mounted Police"(the badges are similar in design to the larger cap badge.) Both collars have a matching white metal patina. One badge has both original lugs, while the other has one original lug and a replacement lug improperly attached- this could be removed/cleaned, or left as is. Both collars have the Gaunt disk present. The disk reads "J.R. GAUNT & SON LONDON", with disk being in the center of both badge.
The cap badge is pictured on page 130 of the recommended reference "Insignia of the Canadian Mounted Police 1873-1998" by Donald J. Klancher, while the collars are pictured on page 202.

Shipping is at the responsibility of the buyer. Small Items will be shipped by Canada Post after items have been verified.
Larger items (larger than parcel size) will be shipped by the freight line determined by the buyer of the assets. all shipping arrangements must be made with in 24 hours of auction and all assets MUST be picked up or shipped with in 72 hours of online auction finish time. all shipping costs will be charged to the buyer or charged collect.
Kastner Auctions does not ship any alcoholic items(lots).
-All items need to be picked up within 5 days of purchase.
-All items left after that time are subject to a $6 per day per item storage fee.
-All items left for 21 days or longer are considered forfeited.
-No refunds will be issued for forfeited items.
Payment Details:
All Items Must be paid for with in 24 hours of the auction. Orders over $3500 must be paid by etranfer, or debit or be subject to additional credit card fees.
All vehicle purchased must be paid by cash, debit, or bank draft. A maximum of $1000 deposit can be put on your credit card.
Vehicle Payment Terms:
1.Vehicles are charged a maximum of $750 buyers premium.
2.Vehicle purchases over $3500 will be paid by debit, cash or bank draft Only, (credit card payments will not be accepted over this amount)

Accepted Payment Methods:
Live auctions will be subject to a 17.5% buyers premium (unless otherwise noted). Also note some items will be subject to a handing fee. (Glassware that must be packed, pictures that must be wrapped, etc.) If shipping is not arranged within 72 hours the buyer agrees the auctioneer may auto ship all items at the buyers expense.
Online bidding during the Live Auction is a fast process, and therefore there is no confirmation given - bids will be taken immediately and are irrevocable.
The highest bidder shall be the purchaser upon the completion of bid verification. Bid verification will commence upon the conclusion of a live auction and may last 24 hours. All winning bidders shall be notified by email within the 24 hour bid verification period.
No bidder shall retract their bid. In the event of a dispute between two or more bidders, the auctioneer, at his sole discretion may put the lot up for resale to the highest bidder.
A bidder is deemed to have accepted an item when making a bid.
The auctioneer reserves the right to withdraw any lot at any time prior to the time of sale of such lot.
The auctioneer reserves the right not to accept any bid which is only a partial advance over the preceding bid.
The auctioneer may break down or consolidate any lot or lots at his sole discretion.
Kastner Auctions Limited assumes no responsibility for any liability once a bid is accepted. It is recommended that purchasers arrange insurance for their purchases in advance.
Except as set out herein, there shall be no warranties or guarantees expressed or implied, statutory or otherwise of any nature.

No sale shall be invalidated by any reason or defect or inaccuracy of description in catalogue or otherwise, and no liability shall be borne by the auctioneers by virtue of any such fault or error. All sales final.
Attendance at the auction, preview, or removal by bidders and guests is done at their sole risk. Kastner Auctions assumes no risk or liability, statutory, common law or otherwise whatsoever for the safety of those attending at the auction premises.
All lots must be paid for on day of sale by Money, cash or credit card where acceptable. Internet bidders shall have within 24 hours upon receipt of their email notification to pay for their items.
All applicable excise and sales taxes shall be added to the purchase price.
The purchaser is not entitled to possession until all items have been paid for in full. In the event that the purchase prices are not paid within the prescribed time, the auctioneer shall have the right to resell such items in whatever manner he sees fit without notice to the purchaser. Any shortfall from sale plus commission and expenses thereof shall be paid by the purchaser.
All costs and responsibilities of removal shall be borne by the purchaser/bidder within the time prescribed by the auctioneer. The auctioneer may require proof of adequate insurance from the purchaser. The purchaser/bidder herby indemnifies the auctioneer and the vendor against any and all damages arising from the dismantling and removal of any lots.
Any lots not removed within the prescribed time shall be subject to storage, moving, disposal and service charges at the sole risk and expense of the purchaser. All such lots shall be deemed as abandoned and shall be subject to resale for the recovery of such charges. The purchaser shall also be liable for any rent or damages sustained by the auctioneer for failure to remove any lot.
If for any reason, Kastner Auctions Ltd is unable to deliver any or all of an awarded lot or title thereof, the sole liability of Kastner Auctions Ltd shall be the refund of any monies paid on the lot.
It is the sole responsibility of the purchaser to remove their items within the prescribed time. Kastner Auctions Ltd will NOT provide any delivery or transport of any nature for live auction items.
