An informative and visually engaging group of four reference works devoted to the history and artistry of Wedgwood and eighteenth-century porcelain production. The lot includes Wedgwood by Wolf Mankowitz (Spring Books, London), a richly illustrated monograph bound in blue cloth with gilt spine lettering, offering a detailed overview of Josiah Wedgwood's innovations and ceramic artistry. The second title, 18th-Century Wedgwood: A Guide for Collectors and Connoisseurs by David Buten (Sotheby Parke Bernet, 1978), presents an authoritative survey of Wedgwood's neoclassical designs, with extensive photographic plates, both color and black-and-white, highlighting the beauty of jasperware and creamware forms. Accompanying these is the Wedgwood Quarterly Review, Premier Issue, featuring period photography and essays on Wedgwood interiors and craftsmanship, published as a special collector's edition. Completing the group is Seventeenth and Eighteenth Century French Porcelain by George Savage (Barrie & Rockliff, London, 1960), an essential reference for connoisseurs of Sevres, Vincennes, and other major manufactories, complete with black-and-white and color illustrations of key examples. Together these volumes provide an excellent foundation for the study of fine English and Continental ceramics of the eighteenth century. Dimensions of collection measure 9"W x 12"H x 3.5"D.
