4pc Ceramic and Glass Risque Glasses and Mugs
This 4pc collection of ceramic and glass risque glasses and mugs consists of two ceramic mugs and two glass shot glasses dating to the mid-20th century. The ceramic mugs are crafted from glazed earthenware with a vertically fluted or ribbed body. Each mug features a handle molded into the shape of a nude female figure, with additional relief-molded nude female figures decorating the exterior walls. One mug is finished in a tan glaze and the other in a chartreuse green glaze. Both ceramic mugs are marked on the base with a black ink stamp reading JAPAN. The two shot glasses are made of molded clear glass in the form of a female torso set on a circular pedestal base. The underside of the glass bases is molded with the text MADE IN TAIWAN. These items are typical of mid-century novelty barware produced in the style of designers such as Dorothy Kindell.
