TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES III (1993) - Raphael's (Matt Hill) Screen-Matched Animatronic Head - Raphael's (Matt Hill) screen-matched animatronic head from Stuart Gillard's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III. Creasing on the mask and distinctive paint marks on this animatronic head screen-match to the opening sequence in which Raphael and the other Turtles traveled back in time to rescue their friend April O'Neil (Paige Turco) from the evil Lord Norinaga (Sab Shimono).

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III, the final film of the highly successful original trilogy, debuted at No. 1 at the U.S. box office and grossed $54.4 million globally. The films were lauded for the groundbreaking animatronic creature effects used to bring the titular heroes to life. For the third film, Eric Allard's AllFX took over the creation of the animatronics, continuing the legacy started by Jim Henson's Creature Shop in the first two films.

This lot consists of spotted green foam latex skin with a zippered back over a fiberglass skull fitted with animatronics to control facial movement through the cables running out of the back of the head, as well as foam padding and a small microphone for the wearer. It has cast resin teeth, detailed brown eyes, and a red fabric mask with a snap on the back where the mask's knot would have been attached. The inside of the head is marked "M.H.-R-1" and a green fabric wrap included is marked "R-2." The eyes exhibit yellowing and the foam latex has dried from age, cracking and crumbling along the bottom, and any current functionality of the animatronic mechanisms is unknown. Dimensions: 13" x 10.5" x 10" (33.25 cm x 26.75 cm x 25.5 cm)
