THE STAR WARS HOLIDAY SPECIAL (1978) - Hand-Painted Boba Fett Animation Cel - A hand-painted Boba Fett animation cel from Steve Binder and David Acomba's The Star Wars Holiday Special. Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) traveled to Chewbacca's home planet Kashyyyk, but were stopped on their journey by an Imperial blockade. The holiday special broadcasted Boba Fett's first appearance into the franchise before his official character role in Irvin Kershner's Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Original cels from the Holiday Special are rare, especially those depicting Boba Fett.

The special's animation segment was produced by Nelvana animation company. This lot consists of a double-layered hand-painted animation cels on acetate featuring Boba Fett with a color-printed, photocopied background with sequence number "15-4" labeled on the bottom. The first acetate layer is the hand-painted image of Boba Fett's head marked along the bottom as "15-14" and "BH-2." The second acetate layer is Boba Fett's torso with his Z-6 jetpack and braids marked "15-14" and "BB-18." This lot exhibits minor tearing to acetate bottom edges, and discoloration and tape residue on the background image. Dimensions: (largest) 14" x 11" (35.75 cm x 28 cm)

Sold without copyright; see notice in the Buyer's Guide.
