STAR WARS: THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK (1980) - William Plumb Collection: Lawrence Noble Original Small-Scale Bronze Yoda Statue - A small-scale bronze Yoda statue designed by Star Wars artist Lawrence Noble. Noble's bronze Yoda statue is well-known to Star Wars fans due to the example installed in a fountain at Lucasfilms' Presidio offices. The now-famous statue had a long development route: after seeing Irvin Kershner's Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back in 1980, Noble sculpted an 8-inch clay model of Yoda. Four years later, Noble created three bronze statues based off that clay model where Noble kept one for himself, his father, and for collector William Plumb. Though the base changed, these statues led to Killian Enterprises producing a licensed 8-inch version from the same Noble sculpt in 1990 to celebrate Empire's 10th anniversary. The success of the 10th anniversary small-scale Yoda contributed to Noble developing a full-size bronze Yoda statue in the early 2000s.

This lot comes from Plumb's personal collection. It is cast from bronze with a square base and mounting screws on the underside. The base is engraved "YODA #1" along with Noble's signature. This statue exhibits minor grime and rusting to the mounting screws. Dimensions: 4.5" x 5" x 8" (11.5 cm x 12.75 cm x 20.5 cm)

Estimate: $5,000 - 10,000
