4 barrel tap-action Flintlock pistol with brass body signed”Oakes, London”. The pistol measures 8-3/4” overall with 2-3/4” barrel group of approx 38 cal false rifled. The pistol shows an additional lever on rightside which cuts off right two barrels from firing. The brass is in good condition showing sharp checkering and some light cleaning. The steel parts show a patina and some light pitting but are at least good tovery good with original small parts. The grips are very good with some small losses at the edges, normal wear. Last sold Richard K. Bourne catalogue of James Elwood Jones collection 1981. From an old New Yorkcollector’s estate. Est.; $1,250-$2,500.
