4 VICTORIAN COPIES OF VERY EARLY SWORDS.

1) RAPIER. Overall length: 41". Blade length: 34". A good Victorian copy of a swept hilt rapier. Plain blade w/ steel swept hilt style guard. Cylindrical shaped pommel & wire wrapped grip. No scabbard. CONDITION: sword shows light wear overall.
2) RAPIER. Overall length: 48". Blade length: 38 1/4". A massive & heavy early Victorian copy of an ornate, lg. swept hilt rapier. Plain, dbl. edged blade w/ raised medial line. Very ornate 12 branch hilt w/ knuckle bow & crossguard. Massive, lobed, mushroom shaped pommel w/ wire wrapped grip. No scabbard. CONDITION: sword shows hand forging marks & an overall dark, somewhat crusty patina. This sword really has great visual appeal.
3) BROADSWORD. Overall length: 41 1/4". Blade length: 35". A fine Victorian copy of a late medieval broadsword. Hand forged blade has a single central fuller extending 10 1/4" up from the hilt. Simple downturned iron crossguard. Lg. disk finial w/ a copper disk in the center on both sides. Wire wrapped grip. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a light gray patina as does the iron hilt. Grip is complete & undamaged.
4) MAIN GAUCHE. Overall length: 25 1/2". Blade length: 20 1/2". The main gauche, or parrying dagger, is a sm. weapon usually held in the left hand while using a sword w/ the right. This accurate, Victorian copy has a triangular blade w/ a lg. 10" crossguard. A plain sheet metal knuckle bow rises from the crossguard to the simple rounded pommel. Reeded wood grip. No scabbard. CONDITION: dagger shows light wear overall. (02-16673-27/BF). $600-1,000.
