1) FRATERNAL. A fine example of a Knights of Pythias saber in the general form of a US M1872 cavalry officer's saber. It measures 37 1/2" overall with a 29 3/4" blade etched with Masonic motifs and the name "Sam Bekenstein." in a panel. Gilded brass hilt twith a lion head pommel and a wire wrapped sharkskin grip. Plated scabbard with gilded brass Masonic motif mounts. CONDITION: light wear overall. 2) FRATERNAL. This sword is similar to a US M1832 artillery short sword but was likely produced for a fraternal lodge or theatrical use. It measures 26" overall with a 19 3/8" plain blade and has no markings. Solid brass hilt with fish scale grips, an eagle impressed pommel, and a crown capstan. Riveted leather scabbard. CONDITION: light wear overall with scuffing and flexing to the scabbard. 3) NCO. An NCO or musicians style militia sword from the last half of the 19th century. The sword measures 35 3/8" overall with a 28 1/4" plain elliptical cross section blade. Brass hilt similar to a US M1840 musician's sword but with a wire wrapped leather grip. Brass mounted steel scabbard resembling an Emerson & Silver scabbard. CONDITION: blade and hilt show light wear but the grip is missing 10% of the leather. Scabbard is worn and has several dents. 4) MILITARY: A fine example of a US M1902 saber for all Officers. The sword measures 36" overall with a 28 1/4" etched blade that shows a large American Eagle and an unengraved panel. Plated 3-branch hilt with a black composite grip and a plated scabbard. CONDITION: light wear over all but the hilt is slightly misshaped. (02-24092/BF). NON-GUN. $500-700.
