<B>Group Lot of Four Original Civil War Era Issues of </B></I><B><I>Harper's Weekly</B></I></B></I> (New York: Harper Brothers, 1865), about 16 pages each, elephant folio (11.5" x 16"), with the typical yellowing and very minor chipping to pages due to the high acid content of the paper. Of note is a March 11, 1865 issue with front page engravings of Petersburg and torpedoes in the Cape Fear River; an August 12, 1865 issue with a two-page engraving of the laying of the Atlantic Telegraph Cable; an August 19, 1865 edition with a page of engravings of Confederate President Jefferson Davis’s escape; and a September 23, 1865 edition with a story on the horrors of travel with a dramatic full page engraving of death atop a racing locomotive.
