1.-2. LANIER, SIDNEY. Shakspere and His Forerunners, Studies in Elizabethan Poetry and its development from Early English, Vols I-II. New York: Doubleday, Page & Co., 1902. 8vo. Illustrated. Original red cloth gilt font to cover and spine, red endpapers. Both volumes are very good. Minor wear and staining/discoloring, only light/scattered foxing.  3. LOCKHARD, J. G. Ancient Spanish Ballads; Historical and Romantic. London: John Murray; Edinburgh: W. Blackwood and Sons, 1842. A New Edition, Revised. Original gilt green cloth, decorated endpapers; blue, red, and gilt Islamic style titled frontispiece and title page, and elaborate illuminated publisher's information page facing the table of contents. Text throughout is blocked with multicolored decorative borders, with engraved illustrations. Fair. The spine and cover are detached from the binding, and the back cover is split and nearly detached. The gilt decoration on the cover is bright, spine is faded to brown, some staining and buckling to the cloth; flyleaf is heavily foxed, but the rest of the book is mostly clean. There is an inscription on the flyleaf, which reads: "Thos. E. Powell from W. P. Dickins, 1844." 4. CHURCHILL, RANDOLPH SPENCER, LADY [ED.]. The Anglo-Saxon Review, A Quarterly Miscellany. Vol. IV March 1900. London and New York: John Lane, 1900 4to. Bound in dark green leather, embossed gilt blocking of white, green, and gold hand-colored embossed chariot and Pegasus scene on front and back. Good. There is a 1 1/2 x 1 in. loss of leather at the head of the spine, and a further split along the hinge, and small splits at the foot of the spine, otherwise the binding is clean and bright. Toning on the flyleaf and pastedowns, but the pages are clean. With bookplate of American magnate financier James Hobart Moore and his Wisconsin estate, Loramoor.
