A group of three early 20th century commemorative pieces including a Royal Doulton glazed ceramic bust advertising Army Club Cigarettes, modeled as a uniformed officer with monocle and cap, raised on a square base inscribed with the cigarette brand, the underside bearing the Royal Doulton impressed and printed marks. Accompanying the bust are two World War I commemorative plates, one a square Alfred Meakin ceramic plate decorated with transfer portraits of Allied leaders flanked by flags and patriotic motifs with butterfly corner embellishments, and the other a round Winton plate featuring portraits of Allied leaders under the banner Liberty, Justice & Civilization - Victory 1918, surrounded by flags and laurels. Together, these pieces illustrate the patriotic and advertising themes of the World War I era and appeal to collectors of both advertising memorabilia and historical ceramics.
