These flags were most common to the Centennial 1876, showing the possibility of the Dakotas becoming a single state after Colorado (the 38th state) in 1876. The Dakotas did not become a single state but became individual states November 1889. Benjamin Harrison ran for President with Whitelaw Reid in 1892. CONDITION: Canton still maintains good blue color. Numerous small holes. Stripes are mostly faded. Red indiscernible, turned to gray or pink. Numerous stains and soiling. Still a most unusual and rare flag. 4-53406 JS54
