Edge year DECIMO NONO on edge in raised letters. Some of the treasure seized by Admiral Anson during his circumnavigation of the globe 1740-1744, and by other privateers, was used to produce coins which had 'LIMA' below the effigy of the King, to celebrate the expedition's successful harassment of the Spanish colonies.
