A rare special and possible unique labeled advertising tin from the early 1900s, once held Maple Syrup, has its original private paper label, advertising a maker in Wolverine, Michigan. I believe between the 20s & 40s or thereabouts?

Simple paper label, with basic black advertising printing with no artwork reads within a black outline as follows:
PURE / MAPLE SYRUP / MADE / AND GUARANTEED / BY / Donald M. Scott / Route 1 / Wolverine, Michigan

This came from an old estate, where the farmer was originally from Saskatchewan Canada.

Overall condition shows quite a bit of stains on the label and some minor missing portions, plus the tin, although showing barely any rust, has some dings and wear, one major crunch on the front right bottom corner. See pics.

Tin is square and measures 9 in height to the top rim. Has its original screw cap and bail. It also measures 5 1/8 in. square.

One interesting side note, which they should use today and many containers is the screw lid, showing two small notches opposite each other, this would be to put a piece of steel, or any edge of something to help with leverage to unscrew lid. A great idea.

The top of the tin is embossed in the steel; 1 GAL.

Its a basic tin, but being as old as it is, from a town of only around 250 people, he couldnt have produced too many of these.

A real piece of history for your collection or for a museum display.

Here is some brief history from Wikipedia on the town:

Wolverine is a village in Cheboygan County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 244 at the 2010 census.

The village is in the sparsely populated southwest corner of Cheboygan County, lying mostly within Nunda Township, though a small portion lies in adjacent Wilmot Township. It is located directly off of Interstate 75, 19 miles north of Gaylord and 9 miles south of Indian River and about 34 miles south of the Mackinac Bridge.

Add this very rare tin to your collection today.
