3026- 1895 Morgan $1 NGC PF63
<Our item number 119835>1895 Morgan Dollar. NGC graded Proof 63. Light golden toning on both sides. The King of the Morgan dollars. There may be as few as 600 to 700 Proofs surviving from the original 880 mintage, but that is a small figure when set against the tens of thousands of silver dollar collectors. Many of these collectors, while not currently in the running for this richly priced key date, will be in the market for one someday. The supply, never very high, always attracts a lot of attention when a choice coin like this lovely Proof 63 comes along. And a splendid example it is, combining light golden toning in a balanced layer over the smoothly mirrored fields. There seem to be no circulation strikes of the 1895 Philadelphia Mint issue at all. A mintage figure of 12,000 business strikes has often been given. Recent research done in the national Archives seems to put this fiction to rest, and that in 1895, only Proofs were struck.

It is always an honor for us to be able to offer an uncl eaned, original specimen of the 1895 Proof Morgan silver dollar. The present coin, while it has a few hairlines, is very choice, beautiful and, indeed, one of the more attractive we have offered in several sales in its grade. A coin of this caliber, one with its manner of natural beauty and all, invites confidence in bidders. So square your shoulders. Unburden yourselves. And place a strong bid (PCGS # 7330).
Estimated Value $35,000-38,000.

Our item number 119835
<IMAGES>

</IMAGES>
