1) Cal. 7.7 Jap. S# 91458. Bbl. 25 1/2". Number match receiver, bolt, firing pin & bayonet lug. Receiver marked on left side w/ Kokura Arsenal marking. Mum has been ground leaving Type 99 characters. Ladder aperture rear sight graduated to 1500m. Inverted V front sight w/ protective ears. Dust cover is present. Oval bolt knob. Notched checkered safety knob. Cleaning rod is present. 3-Screw upper band. Open top lower band has mono pod mount. Sm. recoil bolt. 2-Screw butt swivel. Cup type buttplate. Hardwood stock set w/ long handguard. CONDITION: stock set has moderate wear, dents, scratches & staining throughout. Large crack around toe of buttstock. Buttstock has large missing chip at top in nose area. Metal has turned overall gray & patina w/ oxidation & scattered spots of fine pitting. Very good shiny bore. (20-2913/RW). 2) Cal. 7.7 Jap. S# 87982. Bbl. 25 1/2". All visible numbers match. Consignor states rifle was found in cave on Okinawa & was damaged by attack from US flame thrower. Buttstock has extensive fire damage on right side. Additionally bayonet has blackened appearance & distorted blade. Receiver marked on left side w/ Nagoya Arsenal markings. Mum & characters are intact. Ladder aperture rear sight graduated to 1500m. Bayonet marked on right ricasso w/ partially legible marking which includes Nagoya Arsenal marking. Bayonet blade has turned overall gray & patina w/ oxidation & moderate pitting. Blade has been distorted (from heat?). Grips have blackened appearance. CONDITION: stock set has extensive wear, dents, scratches & staining & above mentioned flame damage on right side w/ resulting loss of wood.
