Back to the future: robots… In the beginning they conquered as toys the hearts of children, now they are returning as collectors’ items

This is a collection of three toy robots of Japanese companies from the sixties, inspired by space themes.



1. The Krome Dome is a robot from the Japanese toy manufacturer Y-Yonezawa. The robot is round in shape and can through an elastic midsection bend his body forward. The robot is marked with the company logo and ‘MADE IN JAPAN’. The toy is battery powered.



2. The Fighting Space Man by SH Horikawa from Japan is the version with a robot head to mimic an astronaut on a space mission in a space suit. The robot is battery powered and labeled ‘MADE IN JAPAN’.



3. The Sparky Robot was produced by N-Noguchi in Japan. It is the blue color version, which was also produced in silver. The company logo and ‘MADE IN JAPAN’ are printed on the body of the robot. By operating the spring mechanism, the robot is brought to life – the feet start moving and inside of the robot’s body appear flashes of red electrical sparks.



Due to their fragile construction only a small number of these kinds of tin toys have survived. These three robots are in good condition regarding their age. There are locally minimal dents, rust and dust. The flap of the helmet of the Fighting Man in Space and his head light show traces of glue. The toys have not been tested and Auctionata does not guarantee functionality of the objects. Their dimensions are each with max. 29 x 18 x 12.5 cm.
