Exceptional die work on this 19th Century bronze award medallion put out by the Brixton & Clapham Camera Club of London, England. It is also named and engraved.

High relief obverse with plain edge but fancy indented high rims.

At center shows a wonderful antique camera on wooden tri-pod facing right, with branches of leaves below.
Scroll banners above and below with read;
BRIXTON / AND / CLAPHAM / CAMERA / CLUB

Across at center is a large area that reads;
AWARDED TO (Beautifully engraved by hand);
MR. W.H. STONEMAN
Below the bottom horizontal base and in the top of the exergue are the maker/engravers names and town;
J.A. RESTALL / BHAM (Birmingham?)

The reverse side shows a wreath of branches tied with a box at bottom with engraved info within, the perimeter is 360 degrees of tiny dots.
Professional hand engraving reads;
FOR / BEST PRINT / IN / QUARTERLY / COMPETITION / JUNE 1897

Measures about 45mm in diameter and 4mm in thickness, heavy and in great original condition. Also retains beautiful chocolate brown patina overall.

I could only find one other similar medallion awarded in a different year in the Kodak Collection.

Ive never see this before and Im almost certain its very rare. Out of a long time collection.
