Three Original Glenn Gould Photographic Negatives. Eccentric Canadian pianist Glenn Gould (1932-1982) captivated audiences with his brilliant artistry during the 1950s and early 1960s. In 1957, Gould accomplished a diplomatic coup of sorts by touring the Soviet Union. At the height of his career Gould was young, handsome, expressive and photogenic. These professional images from early in his career show Gould at his best. Two candid 8" x 10" negatives have him before an open window while the third negative, 4" x 4", captures Gould at the piano. Accompanied by glossy prints. Excellent condition. Gould signatures are rare and valuable. A Wall Street Journal article published August 29, 2006 stated that "Gouldiana has become more expensive than memorabilia of any other 20th-century pianist, dealers say. A signed Gould photo in good condition can fetch up to $5,000, compared with about $700 for one featuring the pianist Arthur Rubinstein." These photographic negatives of the great pianist are even rarer than his autograph.
